As an artist, creating this work was a true challenge: shaping a sculptural presence on canvas—alive and in motion—using only pencil. Layer by layer, sculpting and scraping, until the texture had formed her skin, breathed life into her soul, and I could finally greet her. It stands as a tribute to Erwin Olaf, who generously granted me permission to work from his photograph.
