Martin Rek - Stillness, Glencoe

£3,850.00

Carbon pencil, watercolour
59 x 65 cm
2025

Overwhelmed by the incredible vastness of never-ending glens and mighty mountains, I stopped near the river. Looking up, I saw the ‘sitter’ for my portrait – a scene inspiring a deep sense of calm, a familiar connection at last. After a decade of practicing art in Tasmania, I have moved to Edinburgh, Scotland. The recurring theme in my drawing practice is to capture a fleeting atmosphere and particular mood, before the smallest change in light disturbs the equilibrium.
