My work "David in blue scarf" explores human emotion, using the language of mark making to capture the space between the sitter, myself and the paper. I use coloured pencils to convey feeling and personality, making a wide range of marks to depict different aspects of the experience. I explore line and form, capturing specific movement through strokes and blocks. Coloured pencils enable me to create layers of colour and line that are unique, reflecting David's unique character.
