In my creative practice, I work with a variety of techniques - oil and watercolour painting, screen printing, lithography, pencil and charcoal drawing. I often return to the same motif through different media, as each approach offers a new perspective on the visual challenge and reveals alternative ways of resolving it. I deliberately introduce limitations into my drawing process, exploring the relationship between the surface texture and the lightness of the marks. I aim to evoke a certain feeling, the energy that exists in things when working from direct observation, the moment a form is discovered and it starts coming to life on the picture plane.
