Charcoal, graphite, coloured pencil and pierre noire on linen canvas
50 x 50 cm
2025
My work seeks the idea of beauty, memory and lived moments through experimental portraiture, feminine subjects and simple everyday objects. I create images that tell fragments of stories without ever completing them, leaving space for the viewer to do so and, if they wish, to see themselves within them. Through charcoal and graphite in its many forms, I am able to focus on light, structure and the presence of the subject, shaping the narrative along the way. I am drawn to details that often go unnoticed, like the delicate gestures that define an atmosphere. What may seem minimal is intentional and carefully considered before the drawing even begins. By keeping my subjects and their stories suspended, almost paused, I try to reveal the vulnerability we recognise in everyday life.
